From an early background in etching and printmaking, Caio switched to painting during Art Foundation. This experience in printmaking was formative in the development of his layered and original painting style. His work traverses boundaries between imagination and reality, abstraction and representational, seeking to connect with the viewer through the feeling of a shared experience or dream. Caio has studied fine art and history and is a qualified lawyer – giving him a unique vantage point from which he can critique and rationalise his work. Besides frequent exhibitions, his work has been applied to fashion designs, music covers and major public art projects.
