Michael Vanderham

Sarah Mower for American Vogue.com commented ‘After two seasons of showing in a small way, Dutch-born designer Michael van der Ham, stepped out onto the old Eurostar platform – London’s biggest fashion venue for Spring Summer 2011 – to show solo. His reputation as the boy who can mismatch odd scraps of rich-and-humble, stiff-and- soft fabric together, and end up with something quirkily glamorous has spread – along with word about his precocious ability to deliver ahead of time, and sell out in stores like Liberty and Ikram in Chicago’. Tim Blanks, Style.com further added that Michael ‘is making fashion about fashion and the peculiar beauty of the result of his Spring Summer 2011 show speaks for itself.’ Cementing his position as one of the foremost up and coming British designers, van der Ham refined his craft with a number of invaluable internships. He began in New York with avant-garde favourite, As Four. Michael then moved to London to complete intensive stints at Alexander McQueen and Sophia Kokosalaki, before joining the renowned Central Saint Martins MA course which led him to presenting his ideas on the London Fashion Week catwalk.
