Anticipation of a Thousand Moments by Anna Barlow | The Big Egg Hunt

Anna Barlow is fascinated by the culture of celebrational food and of how food tells a story of the people it’s for and place it’s in. A full stand of melting ice creams could suggest a hot day or treats abandoned for some mysterious reason.
Anna’s work is the result of long research into techniques, texture and glaze. Her methods are a combination of hand-building, slip-casting and press moulding and she uses both porcelain and earthenware. The techniques create a ‘visual edibility’ to the work; it is up to the imagination of the viewers to decide how it will taste…

All Aboard by Network Rail | The Big Egg Hunt

Network Rail owns and operates Britain’s rail infrastructure and is working to transform rail travel across the British Isles – they are also The Big Egg Hunt’s location sponsors. Network Rail asked their creative agencies to submit ideas for their egg and then put all the entries to a staff vote. The winning idea, All Aboard, was hatched by Clinic and represents how Network Rail’s work is at the heart of journeys to see family and friends, as well as the eggs’ journey as they visit each of the cities hosting The Big Egg Hunt.

Adventure Time “Bro Hug” by Cartoon Network | The Big Egg Hunt

Featuring lovable characters from Cartoon Network’s wacky hit show Adventure Time, this egg shows Jake (a wise old dog with a big kind heart) giving his best friend Finn (a silly kid who wants to become a hero) a big hug. These two dudes are all they have in the ways of family, and they depend and lean on each other through thick and thin! More importantly, they crack each other up by acting like idiots and telling ridiculous jokes as they traverse their way across the magical land of Ooo.

Abstract Painting #1 (Egg) by Thomas Whittle | The Big Egg Hunt

Thomas Whittle’s art is visually and conceptually mongrel in nature. Formally his paintings and drawings are reminiscent of the aftermath of a punch up between Martin Kippenberger, Sean Landers, Joe Coleman, George Condo and Magritte’s vache paintings. His work functions as an analogous embodiment of our digital culture. For instance, a motion graphics sequence may combine content and techniques from different media such as live action video, 2D animation, painting and drawing. In his use of found imagery Thomas morphs his ‘original’ source material compositing it together in an analogue mashup, which gives birth to hybrid, mongrel-creatures of his own.
