A New Way of Life by Ed Saye | The Big Egg Hunt

Ed Saye is a painter who lives and works in London. His paintings explore the territory between reality and illusion, between abstraction and representation. Drawing inspiration from the history of painting and in particular from twentieth-century abstract painting, his pieces are of grids of geometric forms that hover in indeterminate spaces, alluding to a potential landscape or narrative.
He received his MFA in painting from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2009 and has since exhibited at Museum 52, Rod Barton Gallery and The Other Art Fair. His work is held in international private collections.

A Monument to the Egg by Alana Lake | The Big Egg Hunt

Alana Lake works predominately with photography and video, but extends into sculpture, text and installation and has been described by writer and theorist David Evans as being ‘after Tillmans’.

A Frugal Meal by Charlie Billingham | The Big Egg Hunt

Charlie Billingham studied Fine Art and History of Art in Edinburgh and then continued his studies in Fine Art at the Royal Academy Schools. His work involves painting and printmaking, as well as making installations which use these disciplines and combine them with objects. Much of his recent work has used sections of late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century etchings by James Gillray and George Cruikshank. Charlie’s work has been exhibited and collected both nationally and internationally.

A Common History by David Mackintosh | The Big Egg Hunt

David Mackintosh was born in Sunderland and studied Fine Art at Sunderland University. He has exhibited his work internationally and is now Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at The University of Central Lancashire. His major solo exhibitions include: Arnolfini, Bristol, Cornerhouse, Manchester and Chapter in Cardiff. David’s work involves an ongoing series of experimental drawings, made using a ‘stream of consciousness’ methodology. These drawings are arranged into sessions which are then exhibited in groups and collections. The first monograph on David’s work, ‘Imagine you’re in a room full of blind fools desperately grasping at nothing’, was published in 2007.
